Our commitment
The safety and well-being of all children
Wonthaggi Neighbourhood Centre is committed to the safety and well-being of all children. Everyone who works, volunteers or takes part in our programs is asked to read and follow our Child Safety Code of Conduct.
A code everyone follows
Our Child Safety Code of Conduct sets out how staff, volunteers, mentors and participants are expected to behave. Everyone in the L2P program, learners and mentors alike, agrees to it.
Written policy and procedures
Our Child Safety and Well-Being Policy and Procedures document sets out how we keep children safe and what we do if a concern is raised. You can download both below.
Concerns are taken seriously
If you are worried about the safety or well-being of a child at the Centre or in any of our programs, please tell us. Every concern is followed up.

Speak up
How to raise a concern
If you have a concern about the safety or well-being of a child at Mitchell House, or in any program we run, please raise it with us. You can speak to the Centre Manager in person at 6 Murray Street, Wonthaggi, call the Centre on (03) 5672 3731, or email manager@wonthaggineighbourhoodcentre.com.
You do not need to be certain before you speak up. If you are worried, tell us and we will look into it.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
